Generally, we ship globally using the reliable and insured Japanese EMS Postal Service. It usually takes anywhere between one and two weeks to the US or Europe and 7-10 days to other Asian countries.

Some smaller products are best sent by regular mail to keep costs down - we’ll tell you if that’s the case.

As with all retailers, you’re responsible for customs, import duty (unlikely to happen, BTW) and whatever other spoilsport activities go on where you live. We ship all cleared orders every day.

Most importantly, we don’t inflate the cost of shipping in any way - you pay cost price per product, wherever you are. It’s a flat rate on each item to all countries we serve outside Japan, but if we find any discrepancy we’ll make the adjustment for you.

No information you submit is ever used for anything other than sending you what you bought, customer-service emails or any newsletter you choose to receive. We despise spam as much as you do.

On the financial front, PayPal securely handles payments, so we never see your credit card information, nor does anyone else. Incidentally, the mailing address you give us always overrides the one PayPal holds, so please make sure to register it carefully.

We all know PayPal can be both great and a pain in the butt in equal measure, so if it kicks up an error about your address being wrong even when it's right, please just contact us and we'l process your order manually.

Equally, if you have any technical problems with the website (issues with cookies, most often) or the order procedure just get in touch and we'll happily run the numbers for you.

We're based in Tokyo and all our gear is from manufacturers here in Asia, but we do operate in US dollars, like so much of the world.

However, if you’re in Europe you can view prices in Euros instead - just choose your preferred units from the drop-down menu on every page and Tokyo Zakka! will remember it. When you finish up and click through to PayPal the total will be converted to US dollars at today’s rate and you pay in whatever currency you’re using in PayPal – everyone’s a winner.

We guarantee to ship your order in a timely fashion, but if there’s a problem of any kind with our suppliers we’ll tell you and give you the option to cancel or change your order.

Equally, once you receive your gear we know you’ll be happy but if there’s a problem we promise to refund or replace the item if it’s defective. Also, please don't send anything back without talking to us first. Some items need to go direct to the manufacturer, in which case warranty details will be in your package.

If you’re asking, we’re happy to tell you that not one customer has ever taken us up on a refund - we choose our quality products carefully and work hard to replace any with which there is a rare manufacturing problem.
